Terms of Service
Effective October 1, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of gimme (“gimme,” “we,” “us”). They cover the gimme iPhone app and the web pages for shared lists. By creating an account, using gimme, or opening a shared list, you agree to them.
1. Who can use gimme
- You must be at least 13. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- gimme is currently offered in the United States.
- Your account is for you alone. You’re responsible for what happens on it, so keep your sign-in methods secure.
2. What gimme does
gimme lets you save items you want to buy, see their prices, and plan them into a weekly or monthly budget. You can also share a list with a link. We don’t sell anything. When you buy, you buy from the store, and the store is responsible for the price, shipping, returns, and any dispute about your order.
3. Prices and product details
Names, images, and prices are read automatically from store pages. They can be wrong or missing. Prices are read when you save an item and don’t update on their own, so they can go out of date. Converted prices use daily reference exchange rates and are estimates. Always check the price at the store before you buy.
4. Budgeting is a tool, not advice
gimme helps you organize planned spending. It isn’t financial advice, and you’re responsible for your own spending decisions.
5. Your content
You own what you add to gimme, including item names, links, photos, and your display name. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, resize, display, and process that content only to run gimme. That includes sending item details to our service providers, for example to sort items into categories. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies held in backups for up to 7 days.
Only add photos you have the right to use.
Lists you share
If you share a list, anyone with the link can see it, and the license above also covers showing that list to them: your display name and each item’s name, image, store, link, and price if you leave prices on. The page shows your list as it is when opened. Resetting the link in the share sheet, or deleting your account, stops it. You’re responsible for who you send the link to.
6. Rules
Don’t use gimme to:
- Upload content that is illegal or that you don’t have the rights to
- Access other people’s data, get around security, overload our systems, or copy our service or content by automated means
- Save items in bulk with bots or scripts
- Break any law
A list you share must not show anything that is sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, violent, or misleading, or that reveals someone else’s private information. This applies to item names, photos, and your display name.
Anyone viewing a shared list can report it with the Report this list link. We may hide a shared list, and suspend or close accounts, that break these rules. To report a problem, email gimme.wish@gmail.com.
7. Other sites and apps
gimme links to stores and social apps we don’t control. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
8. Changes to gimme
We may add, change, or remove features. gimme is free today. If we ever introduce paid features, we’ll tell you first, and you won’t be charged unless you agree.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the me tab, under Your data. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or if we must to protect other users or comply with the law. Sections 5 (backup copies), 10, 11, 12, and 13 continue to apply after your account ends.
10. Disclaimers
gimme is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t promise that gimme will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that prices will be accurate.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or purchases you make or miss. Our total liability for any claim about gimme is limited to $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.
12. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you added or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, as far as the law allows.
13. Disputes
New York law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any legal action, contact us at gimme.wish@gmail.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it. If we can’t, disputes go to the state or federal courts in New York County, New York.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the effective date above, and for significant changes we’ll tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using gimme after that, you accept the new terms.
15. Apple App Store terms
If you got gimme from Apple’s App Store:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for gimme or its content.
- You may use gimme on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for gimme.
- If gimme fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for gimme.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about gimme, including product liability claims, claims that gimme fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection claims.
- If anyone claims that gimme infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating and resolving it.
- You confirm that you aren’t located in a country under a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you aren’t on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
